Silver Creek/Gowanda benefit concert...

I would like to propose that the combined community choruses of Sheridan and Cattaraugus present a "benefit concert" for the residents of Silver Creek, NY and Gowanda, NY in the wake of this week's flooding.

You've seen the horrible pictures of the devastation of this past week and I'm sure some of you have been affected as well as your friends, relatives and neighbors.

I would like to find a venue big enough to hold a large audience for our concert so that we can present at least part of our patriotic musical: 'Our Flag Was Still There' while showing video of some of the storm devastation. We can ask the audience to bring canned goods, non-perishable food items, money donations, etc. If you know of an agency which could decimate the donations (such as the Red Cross, etc.), please let me know.

I would like your ideas and reactions to my proposal. Please get back to me as soon as possible. This is a great time for us to step up and help others in our community.
