Community Chorus rehearsal...

We have a chorus rehearsal planned for Tuesday, 9/22/09 to be held tentatively at the Silver Creek Central School Auditorium (1 Dickinson Street - Silver Creek, NY 14136).

This would give us a chance to become accustomed to the acoustics and the logistics of the school/auditorium/stage etc.

The place we rehearse is tentative...if we can't use the auditorium, I would still like to get together to go over the 3 pieces from the "Our Flag Was Still There' cantata. The pieces will be... 'There She Stands,' 'I Pledge Allegiance Again,' and 'Stars and Stripes Forever.' Plus, we'll go over 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters.'

Any questions, just give me a call.

I need someone to volunteer to organize the reception following the concert.
There have been a few people who have contacted me volunteering to bring cookies, deserts, drinks, etc...but I need someone to organize all their efforts.

I need help with the Chinese Auction to be held during the reception.
We need someone to help organize our volunteers...maybe someone with experience with Chinese auctions.

The posters are done!

The posters for our 9/27/09 benefit concert are in. I have 200 of them and would like volunteers to help post them in public places (stores, malls, restaurants, churches, town halls, schools, etc.).

I'll leave a supply of them at our house (11786 Hanover Road - in between Routes 20 & 39) in a chest on our front deck. Please take as many as you can use.

We need to get the word out! This will be a great concert for a great and worthwhile cause.

Thank you for your help.

Flooding victims' Benefit Concert...

It takes an enormous amount of time and effort to organize any concert, especially a "benefit concert."
Not only do you need to get exciting music groups and talented musicians to commit their time, you need to select music, rehearse the music, select a venue, get permission to use that venue, and you need to find a reputable organization to distribute the donations to the local victims & families.

WE WILL SUCCEED WITH YOUR HELP!

If you can help us in any way (phone calls, organizing the post-concert reception, ushering, promotion, etc.), or if you know of a person or organization which could donate to our cause, please contact me.

We need your help in order to help others!

Flooding Benefit Concert...

We are planning the upcoming benefit concert for the flood victims of our area. We haven't confirmed a place for the concert, so we don't yet have a confirmed date.

So far, it looks like The Dave Golando Big Band, The Sheridan/Cattaraugus Community Chorus and The Big Bore Brass will perform at the benefit concert. It will be a great concert for a very good cause.

As soon as we confirm the concert venue, we will begin the promotion.

If you have any questions, suggestions or offers of help...please contact

Silver Creek/Gowanda benefit concert...

We are planning on having the Commmunity choruses and possibly one or two instrumental groups perform at this upcoming benefit concert. We are working on a specific date and venue. Plans may include having a few local leaders speak during the program. And possibly a few victims of the flooding sharing a few of their experiences.

We are going to ask for money donations, non-perishable food donations, clothing, etc. for the flood victims. We would also like to have a reception following the program for the community members to have a time of sharing.

Can you help?
